GOALKEEPER Adam Bartlett is hoping to secure his future for the 2009-10 season in the next seven days.

The 23-year-old shot-stopper has became one of close season's hot properties after a series of impressive performances for Harriers in the Blue Square Premier.

The keeper left Aggborough at the end of the season when his contract finished in May.

Bartlett said he has been in contact with manager Mark Yates but is weighing up his options after attracting interest from Football Conference and league clubs.

"I know that several clubs have shown some interest in me, some from the Blue Square Premier and the Football League and I hope to sort out my future in the next seven days," said the keeper.

"I wouldn't rule out coming back to Harriers but we'll see what happens.

"I've been in contact with the gaffer about the situation and I know the club has a financial situation.

"At the end of the season he spoke to all of the players one-by-one and was upfront and honest about it."

The keeper was one of the signings of last season when he joined Harriers from Blyth Spartans.

His form for Harriers cemented his place in the England C squad and gave him his appetite to stay in the professional game full-time.

He said: "It was a great season at Harriers. I don't think anybody expected us to do as well as we did.

"To reach the FA Cup third round and to come within a whisker of the play-offs was a great achievement. It was disappointing that we didn't get into the play-offs.

"Moving to Harriers has given me the appetite to stay in professional football.

"From my first game against Lewes I knew I was playing at excellent stadium and much bigger crowds compared to Blyth Spartans."

The keeper's efforts was rewarded with an appearance at Wembley when he played for Cambridge United in the Blue Square Premier's play-off finals against Torquay.

Bartlett joined Cambridge on a short-term loan and enjoyed playing at the home of football, despite United's 1-0 defeat.

"I had a one-off move to Cambridge because Danny Potter was injured. He actually looked as though he may make it the day before the final but the swelling was too great in the end.

I had a great experience although I wasn't on the winning side."
