NEW signing Chris McPhee praised the efforts of the management and also thanked the fans who helped entice him back to Aggborough after signing a two-year deal at Harriers.
The 26-year-old, who turned down a move to Cheltenham Town, ended weeks of speculation by putting pen to paper at Aggborough.
McPhee, who made a big impact when he joined Harriers in February last season, admitted that the club had always been his preferred move after being in close communication with manager Mark Yates all summer.
As part of his deal, Harriers have provided the player with a car, which allows him to travel from his home near Exeter to train once a week with his team mates and attend matches.
The KHIST fans group worked closeley with the club to find the car and contribute funds towards it.
McPhee said: "It has been a long summer, there has been a lot of talk, a lot of speculation and lot of rubbish thrown around really.
"The gaffer and I have always been honest with each other and been in constant contact and knew where each of us stood from the word go.
"I've always wanted to speak for the last few weeks about playing for the club.
"Ever since there was a chance to play for Harriers I have been more than happy to hear what he's got to say. We've come to an agreement and I'm happy to sign on for the next two years."
"It's nice to actually be able to sit back and know that you've got a little bit of security and a future.
"Although we've lost a few keys players from last season, we're fully convinced we've got the right blend already signed, along with some players the manager is looking to bring in to make sure we're a force in this league.
"I'm delighted it's all done and dusted and that I'm a Kidderminster player and I can't wait for the season to kick-off.
"I'd also like to thank the guys who helped the club sort out the car. It's really made a huge help towards this.
"We've only got one car and my wife needs that for the school run and work, so I wouldn't have been able to sign without their help.
"I'm very grateful for what they've done and I hope I can repay them by getting results on a match day."
McPhee's signature will offset the disappointment of Russ Penn's move to Burton Albion for an undisclosed fee.
KHIST Treasurer Steve Millington was delighed with the capture of McPhee: "I think it's fantastic deal, it couldn't be better.
"Part of the deal with Chris is that he needed transport to help him get here and back to the South West.
"We were approached by the club to help out and were able to source a car that was suitable for everyone's needs and provide a reasonable cash contribution towards it.
"There are things that crop up outside the club's normal budget and if we are able to provide additional funds from time-to-time that's what we're here for."
Defender Martin Riley also agreed a one-year contract at Harriers today.
