ON-LOAN hitman Adam Boyes believes he can make a difference for Harriers as they chase glory.
The 19-year-old Scunthorpe United forward made his debut for the club and almost produced a match-winning performance against Ebbsfleet.
The Boyes had enjoyed a good season with York City in the 2008-09 campaign, but after a brief spell back at Kit Kat Crescent has been playing for The Iron's reserve team.
He said: "I looked at the league table and saw Harriers are going for the play-offs and they're in the semi-finals of the FA Trophy.
"They're a club on the up, so I thought it was good opportunity to come along and play good football.
"I've just been in the reserves at Scunthorpe but I prefer to be playing more competitive football.
"It's a good chance to come here and I hope it all goes well."
The hitman made an immediate impact when he replaced Robbie Matthews in the second half, setting up Brian Smikle for the leveller and then coming close to grabbing the winner, only to be denied by Stefan Bailey's goal-line clearance.
"I didn't connect very well with the ball but the shot was going in," commented the striker.
"It could have been tapped in by one of the lads but it just went wide.
"I was trying to get on the scoresheet or create a goal for someone else.
"I like to get in the channels, it depends on what day I have really.
"Sometimes I hold the ball up, or I get in the channels, either way I don't mind."
The hitman is also available to play in Harriers' FA Trophy two-legged semi-final against Stevenage and exact some revenge.
Boyes was part of the York side that were edged out 2-0 at Wembley in last year's final.
He added: "I'd love to play at Wembley again because it's the biggest experience I've ever had.
"Just to play there again would be amazing, although a win this time would be brilliant."
