HARRIERS manager Steve Burr is set to leave it late before deciding whether to play influential midfielder John Finnigan in Saturday's FA Trophy semi-final first leg with Stevenage Borough.
The player/coach missed Saturday's 0-0 draw at Eastbourne with a calf problem which he has yet to completely shake off.
Finnigan has been a revelation for Burr since the manager joined and played all but one of his games.
But with a Blue Square Premier clash at Luton on Tuesday and the return leg of the semi-final next Saturday at Stevenage, the manager will not risk playing him until he's ready.
"John's 50-50 for the game and we won't risk him unless he's fit," commented Burr.
"He's experienced enough to now if he's okay to play.
"Obviously, it would be great to have him and we'll leave it to the last possible minute before we make our decision."
Robbie Matthews looks as though he'll be available after picking up a knock as a substitute at the weekend, while centre back Gavin Caines is also set to be fit despite his niggly Achilles heel problem.
Burr took a look at Saturday's opponents on Tuesday night as they swept aside Barrow 4-0 in the Blue Square Premier but is more focused on his own plans rather than worrying about Graham Westey's Conference leaders.
He said: "It was good to see them against Barrow on Tuesday.
"They're an excellent outfit but we can't worry about them.
"We can only go out and play as well as we have done in the last few weeks.
"At the end of the day it's the semi-final of the FA Trophy and we want to win it."
The manager has also backed the home fans to make a difference at Aggborough tomorrow.
He added: "The fans have been tremendous since I joined the club and their support could make a big difference."
