Fans face 600-mile Scots test

Harriers fans team will be embracing the Proclaimers cult hit I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles) but take it a stage further as they travel to Edinburgh this weekend to tackle Hearts in the IFA Supporters Challenge Cup this weekend.

The team face a 600-mile round trip to take on the Scottish outfit for a place in the quarter-finals of the cup.

A 15-strong squad will be making the journey by road or air on Friday before returning on Sunday.

Last season they defeated supporters’ teams from West Bromwich Albion, Bury and Motherwell to reach the final in Leeds, where they lost to a strong Preston North End A side.

This season, they booked their place in round two with a 5-4 win over Stoke.

In the IFA League, Harriers have struggled for fixtures in the last few months and in their last outing they lost 8-1 at local rivals AFC Telford.
