THE annual Herefordshire and Worcestershire Sports Awards are inviting the local community to nominate the top sporting talent from the two counties.

The Sports Partnership Herefordshire and Worcestershire’s event, now in its 15th year, recognises the sporting achievements and celebrates good practice within the local sporting community.

The Partnership opened registration for nominations yesterday and is urging members of the Herefordshire and Worcestershire community to put forward candidates who they feel deserve recognition for their sporting achievement and dedication to sport within their community.

Stephen Brewster, director of the Sports Partnership, said: “This event is our chance to honour our local sports men and women, coaches, volunteers, clubs and officials.

“For the past 15 years, we’ve received such huge support for the awards and feel it’s important the local community get their say on who has made an impact on sport, young people and local communities.

“Recognising sporting achievements and celebrating good practice within the sporting community is at the very heart of what we do and we will be championing the hard work and talent that exists within Herefordshire and Worcestershire.”

The event, which is attended by more than 250 sports people, businesses and dignitaries, takes place on Tuesday, November 4, at Worcester’s Sixways Stadium.
