ASSITANT manager Mark Creighton says Kidderminster Harriers can’t afford to dwell on their defeat at Southport.

Tuesday’s 1-0 reverse at Haig Avenue was Harriers’ first of the season as their impressive seven-game unbeaten start was stopped in its tracks.

But they are sixth in the Vanarama Conference, six points behind leaders Halifax, ahead of tomorrow’s long trip to 12th-placed Braintree (3pm).

Creighton wants them to put the Southport setback behind them and return to what brought them success prior to that game.

He said: “The result didn’t go our way on Tuesday and we were pretty unimpressed but, on reflection, we had plenty of chances but didn’t take them. On another day, we could have won 4-1.

“You are not always going to have your own way and the sign of a good team is you don’t lose two in a row.”

He added: “It’s been a fantastic start and we are delighted, we couldn’t have asked for any more.

“It was tough to take on Tuesday because we have set such high standards for ourselves.”

Nathan Blissett could come back into the team after being replaced by Reece Styche at Southport.

The striker was on the bench in order to rest him and came on for Jamie Grimes in the second-half.

Braintree, who have won three of their four games at Cressing Road, are looking to bounce back from Tuesday’s 2-1 defeat at Welling United.
