DROITWICH were knocked out of the RFU Midlands Intermediate Cup in the first round after losing 37-0 at a strong Shrewsbury side.

The visitors started slowly and found themselves 22-0 down within the first 20 minutes.

Spa did well to come back into the game but silly errors and poor decision making allowed Shrewsbury to run in more tries.

The Worcestershire side have to get key players back into the match-day squad and return to form in Midlands Two West (South).

Good performances came from Dan Wilkinson and Luke Topping on a poor day for a young, inexperienced line-up.

Droitwich visit Leamington on Saturday in the league.
