WORCESTERSHIRE’S Samurai club took six medals at their girls’ charity event.
They raised more than £1,102 for two-year-old Riley Tristram, who lost his mother Jessica Evans to cancer last year at the age of 22.
The Kidderminster event was run almost entirely by females from the club with some being friends of the family.
Worcester and Droitwich clubs were in the medals too.
Samurai’s Sophie Deeming-Lane and Lauren Fletcher won golds, while silver medallist Ellie Arnull lost her final to a girl from Oxford.
Charlotte Silwood, Maddy Averill and Olivia Turner added bronzes.
Worcester’s Lily-Marie Moore won bronze as did Droitwich’s Felicity Warburton and her club-mate Megan Skillern claimed silver after her final against Fletcher.
In the middleweights open, Deeming-Lane and Fletcher gained silver and bronze respectively.
Teams led by Bryony Griffiths and Arnull contested the final with the former winning gold.
Meanwhile, players from Worcester and Samurai were in Nottingham for a local competition.
Samurai’s Ellie McAteer took a gold medal, while Worcester’s Jack Walker won two categories.
Loic Keasey added bronze and James Harrison also competed.
Samurai’s Sam Wood-ward secured two bronzes for the senior men.
