THE second round of the Worcestershire FA Sunday Minor Cup saw success for McDonald’sWorcester and District League Teams with Brickfields going through with a 5-2 win over Charlton Old Boys.

Joe Corbett was their shooting star, netting four times with Jason Payne also on target.

Other winners included Freemasons Arms who had Tom Mason scoring twice in their 4-2 win at Riverside.

There were further two-goal heroes with doubles coming from Tom Day of VBL Sports, who beat Mostyn Rangers 4-0, Scott Humphries, as Old Bury Park Tigers won 3-1 at Teme Valley, and Mike Keay for Colwall St James, who lost 4-2 at Brintons Arms.

GDL Athletic had a narrow 3-2 victory at Malvern Mans after Mark Edwards bagged two for GDL, as did Lee Mason for Malvern.

In the Sunday Premier Cup, Steve Coopey and Tyler Attwood both bagged a brace for Hallow who beat Brewers Athletic 5-2.

WCT Raiders also went through 3-0 against Translfit Bendi, Jamie Insall netting twice with Richard Smith also on the scoresheet.

Perrywood Reserves cruised in to the third round of the Sunday Junior Cup with Gary Price and Aaron Drake both hitting hat-tricks as they crushed the University of Worcester ‘B’ 9-0.

They are joined by The Gloster Arms who thrashed Woodgate Valley 12-1, Ed Lyons and Dan Stowe both finding the net four times.

A single strike from Martin Matthew gave New AFC Barbourne victory at Falcons.

In Sunday Division One, an Andre Rodrigues strike secured three points for Worcester Saints at FC Droitwich Town, while Claines also won 1-0 at Worcester Lynx where Dan Banks grabbed the all-important goal.

In Division Two, Tom Tandurella notched both goals in Worcester City Wanderers’ 2-0 success at Powick and Shaun James scored twice for Blackpole Sports who beat Sport Dysons 3-0 to go top of Division Five.

Elsewhere, Worcester Raiders travelled to Worcester Olympic in the Saturday Junior County Cup and run out 9-1 winners with two goals each from Insall, Richard Smith, Benjamin Harbourne, Anthony Smith, while Lewis Platt scored one.

Raiders now advance to the quarter-finals.

Littleton reached the Les James Challenge Cup third round with a 1-0 win over Cadbury Athletic at Alvechurch.

Luke Rowlands scored a first-half winner in a hard-fought, even game, with their fellow Midland League Division One high-fliers.

Littleton went ahead on 30 minutes when Nathan Hayward broke down the right, cut in and pulled the ball back for Rowlands to smash the ball home from close range.
