MANAGER Gary Whild says he’s “pulled a rabbit out of the hat” by attracting midfielder Matt Robinson to Kidderminster Harriers.

The Luton Town player has joined Harriers on a one-month loan deal and impressed in last weekend’s 2-1 triumph against Torquay United.

Striker Reece Styche made a fine start to his loan period at Tamworth with a goal against Bradford Park Avenue.

Whild admits he can only bring in new players by sending others out on loan.

He said: “Reece put his hands up and said he needed some more games. He will come back to us fitter and sharper with more games under his belt.

“It also allowed us to pull a rabbit out of the hat and bring in Matt, who did well on his debut. Because of where the club are, if we want to bring in players we have to shuffle things around to free up funds.”

Whild has called on Harriers to build on the win over Torquay.

They are only four points off second spot in the Vanarama Conference Premier despite a series of inconsistent results.

The win was more impressive as Harriers were without centre-half Josh Gowling (shoulder) and midfielder Kyle Storer, who is set to miss several weeks with a hernia.

Last season’s top-scorer Michael Gash was also left out of the squad.

Harriers face a frustrating wait before a return to action with their next game on Wednesday at home to Aldershot (7.45pm).

The game has been pushed back 24 hours because of the Shots’ FA Cup trip to Portsmouth on Sunday.

Harriers’ cup exit means they are without a game today after attempts to bring the home clash with Nuneaton forward fell through.

“The club did everything it could to get a game on but unfortunately Nuneaton pulled out at the 13th hour,” said Whild.

Meanwhile, supporters can quiz Whild and his assistants Mark Creighton and Gowling at a fans’ forum on Thursday (7.30pm).

Admission is £3, which includes a fish and chip meal.
