EIGHTEEN-year-old Josh Bryan was the star of the prize-giving dinner at Worcester Golf and Country Club with four trophies.

Bryan, a product of the club’s junior academy, has seen his handicap tumble down from four to one this season.

He started the campaign off well by winning the club championships.

Bryan followed this up by taking the April and July medal competitions as well as recording the best gross medal scores on four occasions.

On finals day, he beat Simon Fletcher to claim the Scratch Cup.

His consistent form throughout the season also saw him lift the Hallmark Trophy, which was awarded to the player with the best four nett scores from 22 rounds.

Bryan also collected the Scratch Medal for recording the best four gross scores from 22 rounds of golf.

He nearly recorded a unique hat-trick by winning the Eclectic Salver but was pipped by Don Hooper in the final medal of the season.

Hooper had birdied 14 different holes during the campaign in medal competitions and needed at least three more to beat Bryan.

He managed to record the three required birdies, including one on the 18th hole, to lift the salver.

The Hogg Bowl was claimed by Paul Massey and Matt Norton, while the Jubilee Bowls went to Rob Powell and Steve Blewett.

The Chairman’s Cup was won by Lloyd Sussex and Rick Maskell with the President’s Cleek heading to Terry Brewer.

Shawn Thomas picked up the Arthur Spreckley Cup and Sean Lloyd lifted the Smith Cup. The Burrows Cup was bagged by John Quinn and the Veterans’ Cup went to Keith Mulcock.

Robin Harris collected the Francis Marrian Trophy, Jason Hancocks scooped the Norman Duggan Cup and Robin Price secured the Club Cup.
