CRIPPLEGATE Guild were overwhelmed by visiting YMCA Falcons in the latest round of Worcester Table Tennis League Division One matches.

They won 10-0 with seven of the singles events being decided three-straight. The only game to be earnestly contested was the first singles in which Graham Thompson beat Steve Baker 9-11, 11-1, 7-11, 11-9, 11-8.

Father and son Lewis and Michael Siket were dominant for St George’s in a highly competitive match against Poolbrook Pirates which the Saints won 8-2.

The result ended Pirates’ unbeaten run. The Sikets were both unbeaten in their singles and combined to also win the doubles.

Dale Dickinson beat Steve Glazzard and came close to defeating Svilen Andreev before going down 5-11 in the deciding fifth game.

Andreev extended Lewis Siket to a deciding fifth game having won the first two 11-6, 11-7 and Siket had to use all his experience in winning the remaining three 11-3, 11-8, 11-5.

Manor Park Dynamos won five of the first six singles to gain a lead of 6-1 against Rainbow, but their opponents rallied to win the doubles and two of the remaining three singles to gain a well deserved point.

For the Dynamos, Richard Smith, Matt Hodges and Geoff Burford each won three singles, while Rainbow were best served by Trevor Simmons who won two singles and also the doubles with Ray Page.

The other success came from Mark Clinton who beat Matt Hodges in a close encounter 7-11, 17-15, 4-11, 11-4, 15-13.

Fernhill Heath WMC ‘B’ gained their first win in beating visiting Nemesis 6-4.

Steve Gough, Sheila Ashby and Phil Houghton each won two singles for Fernhill Heath, while Gough and Ashby were also successful in the doubles in which Gough suffered an injury that prevented him playing his other singles.

Stan Mason, the Nemesis number one, beat both Ashby and Houghton in the two singles he played.
