THE Sports Partnership Herefordshire and Worcestershire are to be appointed as one of seven hot spot areas for the sport next year by the Bowls Development Alliance (BDA).

Clubs and players across the two counties will enjoy increased support and benefits, such as increased access to coaches, facilities and designed Play Bowls 4 Fun events.

Development evenings will be on December 10 at Hereford Sixth Form College from 7pm and in Worcestershire later in the month.

They will kick off the 12-month period and enable clubs to find out more about the project and support available.

The two counties’ partnership’s director Stephen Brewster said: “This is a great opportunity to develop the sport of bowls in Herefordshire and Worcestershire and help more people to enjoy the sport.

“We will be looking forward to utilising the area’s fantastic facilities and establishing a long-lasting impact for the project.”

With the two counties already boasting three indoor venues and 45 affiliated Bowls England clubs, the project will work on participation and disability packages as well as club and workforce development.
