MANAGER Paul Collicutt is hoping Evesham United’s remarkable run of form will attract more fans to the Jubilee Stadium.

The Robins have climbed into the play-off places on the back of an eight-game winning streak in Evo-Stik Southern League Division One South and West.

It has led to supporters coming out in force, with the crowd of 381 for the Boxing Day victory over Stratford Town the largest league gate since United moved to the ground in 2012.

Another 324 watched last Saturday’s 5-0 thumping of Bishops Cleeve, some of whom helped players and officials clear the pitch of water prior to kick-off.

Sixth-placed Yate Town are the visitors tomorrow (3pm) as Evesham aim to make it 27 points out of 27.

Collicutt said: “It was pleasing on Saturday to see the size of the crowd and it would be pleasing this weekend to see a few more come through the turnstiles.

“The players appreciate it and I would like to think the fans have enjoyed the games.

“There’s a good atmosphere at the club and that’s come about through winning. It’s not just the players with a smile on their faces, it’s the crowd as well.”

The Evesham boss added: “The lads just seem to be bouncing off each other. They are playing well as a team and certain individuals are on top of their game. It’s been good to watch.

“It’s brought a togetherness within the team and club. The worst thing in football is losing and the worst habit you can have is losing but the best habit is winning, there is no better feeling.”

Striker Kevin Slack could return following a leg injury but midfielder Elliot Kennedy is out for personal reasons.
