KIDDERMINSTER Harriers are facing a defensive crisis for tomorrow’s FA Trophy clash against Altrincham at Aggborough (3pm).

Manager Gary Whild only has one recognised centre-half available for the second round tie in Jamie Grimes because Jordan Tunnicliffe and Tyrone Williams are both cup-tied.

The pair turned out for Sutton Coldfield and Romulus respectively earlier in the competition which, along with Josh Gowling still recovering from medial ligament damage, leaves Harriers short of cover.

Whild could be forced to play midfielder Kyle Storer in the back-four or switch Kevin Nicholson from left-back and bring in Jake Green.

Striker Jamie Spencer is also ineligible after playing for Redditch in the qualifying rounds, while midfielder Aman Verma is struggling with a back problem.

Despite the lack of numbers, Whild is determined for Harriers to make progress against their Conference rivals and bank the £6,000 in prize money.

Kidderminster won 2-1 at Dartford last time out, while Altrincham have won their last two matches, including 2-0 at play-off chasing Eastleigh last weekend.

Whild said: “Altrincham are one of the division’s form sides and had a really good result at Eastleigh.

“But we’re at home so that gives us an advantage and as I have said before, the Trophy is a competition we’d like to go a long way in.”

Winger Keyon Refell, who joined the club from Port Talbot, looks set for his debut with the Welshman’s international clearance close to coming through.

“The club are also working hard on Keyon Refell’s international clearance, it’s not done yet but we’re hopeful he’ll be available for tomorrow,” Whild added.

Harriers reached this stage of the competition with a 4-1 victory at Bradford Park Avenue last month, with Altrincham beating Macclesfield.
