STRIKER Reece Styche has fired a parting shot to the Kidderminster Harriers supporters who booed him.

The 25-year-old, who signed a two-year deal in the summer, has joined Tamworth for a second loan spell until the end of the campaign.

He struggled for goals while at Aggborough but was jeered by a section of Harriers fans, prompting manager Gary Whild to defend him.

However, Styche has since lashed out at the minority who criticised him on social media.

The former Forest Green Rovers striker tweeted: “Little message for the ‘minority’: grow up, support the team and start to act like fans! Fans don’t boo and jeer their own team!”

Whild also came to the defence of Styche’s fellow forward Craig Reid, who missed a penalty in last Saturday’s 1-0 FA Trophy second round defeat to Altrincham at Aggborough.

Reid has managed just four goals from 28 appearances since joining the club in the summer.

Harriers boss Whild said: “Craig would be the first person to put his hand up and say he is disappointed he hasn’t scored more goals.

“But if you look at his overall contribution, he’s worked hard, played a part in the team and produced a few assists.”

Harriers, who host Conference play-off rivals Macclesfield Town today (3pm), have sent young defender Tyrone Williams on loan to Stourbridge and have also drafted in goalkeeper and former youth team player Haydn Whitcombe.

Whitcombe, who has agreed non-contract terms, has previously been on the books at Stourport Swifts, Halesowen and Littleton.

Meanwhile, Harriers have confirmed that the contract of Freddie Ladapo has been cancelled by mutual consent.

Ladapo was brought to the club by former manager Andy Thorn from Colchester United last January but only made four appearances.

The 21-year-old has spent most of this season at Grays Athletic after joining the Ryman Premier Division side on a long-term loan at the end of July.
