EVESHAM United play at the Jubilee Stadium for the first time in February tomorrow as they look to continue their fine run of form in Evo-Stik Southern League Division One South and West.

The high-flying Robins, who have won three and drawn one of four consecutive away games, host mid-table Wimborne Town (3pm).

While pleased with his side’s effort on their travels, manager Paul Collicutt, whose side won 3-0 at Wantage Town on Tuesday, is relishing the prospect of playing on their own turf.

He said: “We are very happy to be at home. The lads are really looking forward to playing on their own pitch, it’s made them appreciate what they have got, not just the pitch but at the club.

“We have had four away games and travelled quite a few miles and played on a few dodgy pitches, none more so than at Wantage.

“You can see they don’t do much work on their pitch and it’s probably one of the worst surfaces I have witnessed in many years.

“I was pleased that we came away with three points.”

United are bidding for a ninth home league win of the season to keep their play-off bid firmly on track.

Collicutt added: “We have had to try to make ourselves a difficult side to beat, especially at home and hopefully the supporters can see that.

“Tuesday was our 19th clean-sheet in the league so we are tough to beat and play entertaining football.”

Striker Lance Smith is available after missing the last two matches through work commitments but defender Lewis Binns has been ruled out with an ankle injury. Fellow defender Will Wellon continues to be sidelined by a hamstring complaint.
