DEFENDER Jamie Grimes reckons there can be no more slip-ups from Kidderminster Harriers in the race for the Vanarama Conference play-offs.

With 11 games still to play, starting against Halifax at Aggborough today (3pm), Gary Whild’s side have an eight-point deficit still to make up.

But Grimes insists it is too early to write Harriers off, despite being without a victory since the 1-0 win at Aldershot on January 20.

The 24-year-old centre-half said: “We don’t think it’s gone for this season. We’ve been there or thereabouts all season and we need that final push, we need to take that chance.

“We still believe we’re still in there and we’re hoping that the pain of defeat against Gateshead will spur us on into Saturday to beat Halifax and then kick on from there because there’s still plenty to play for.

“We can’t afford anymore slip-ups but it’s there for us.

“If we’re going to get in the play-offs we’ve got to go and do it — simple as that.”

Harriers have also only scored one goal since beating Aldershot with Lee Hughes on target in the 1-1 home draw against Woking on Valentine’s Day.

Grimes added: “It’s really frustrating but all we can do is keep trying; one team is going to get a hammering because we’re going to put all our chances away.”

Meanwhile, shareholders are set to quiz the club’s board of directors at the annual general meeting on Monday over the much-publicised financial situation.

It takes place in the Aggborough Suite at 7pm and is an opportunity for fans to ask questions of the board.

High on the agenda will be the struggle to pay wages and the continued reliance on benefactors Kath and Ernie Lane despite this season selling Nathan Blissett, Chey Dunkley and Marvin Johnson and terminating the contracts of Kyle Storer and Michael Gash.

Last season’s abbreviated accounts show the club’s net current liabilities had increased from £46,772 to £198,517 by May 2014.
