MANAGER Gary Whild thinks his Kidderminster Harriers players will be trying to put themselves in the shop window between now and the end of the season.

News that the Vanarama Conference club are set to reduce their budget for the 2015-16 campaign could spark an exodus from Aggborough in the summer.

Harriers, however, still have nine games to go this term and host sixth-placed Eastleigh tonight (7.45pm) aiming to end a run of six matches without a win.

Whild said: “There is a little bit of uncertainty with the budget for next season and that is not a good situation for the players.

“We’ve got nine games left and I’ve said to the players they have to knuckle down.

“Whatever happens at this football club, they are playing to impress maybe other suitors who are looking to sign them and can afford to bring them in.”

Kidderminster are 13 points adrift of the play-offs and, following Saturday’s 2-0 defeat at Alfreton Town, have not scored a goal in more than six and-a-half hours.

Whild said: “There is a lot to play for and it would be nice to get a goal first of all, never mind about the play-offs.

“We’ve got a proud set of lads, a fantastic club and good supporters — we need to keep thinking of them.

“At the moment, we need to get a goal to cheer up everybody and hopefully get a win as well.

“All we can do is keep working hard. I don’t doubt the lads for their attitude and honesty, but at the moment it’s not going for us.

“I’ve never known the amount of chances we’ve missed.”
