FORMER Stourport Swifts manager Rod Brown is to join Kidderminster Harriers as vice-chairman.

Brown, who resigned his role at Midland League Premier Division Swifts, will review of how the cash-strapped club operates until the end of the season.

Outside of football, Brown is a businessman and will focus his efforts on the commercial side of the Aggborough outfit.

He said: “The board at Kidderminster approached me as it was felt that I could make a contribution to the board through my combination of football experience and knowledge of owning and running my own businesses commercially, and I am hoping to bring this to the club to help move it forward to the next stage.

“I will be part of a team to try to help manage the club as a whole, to improve it so it can challenge for the Football League."

Brown spent three years at Stourport, his second spell at the club after guiding them to two promotions in his first stint, during which current Harriers manager Gary Whild was his assistant.

The pair then moved to Redditch United in 2001 and led them to the Conference North.
