KIDDERMINSTER Harriers will attempt to put their cash crisis to one side as they aim for back-to-back Vanarama Conference victories for the first time since Christmas.

Gary Whild’s side, who last recorded two consecutive victories on December 20 and Boxing Day, head to bottom-of-the-table Telford United tomorrow (3pm) bidding to follow up last Saturday’s 3-1 win over Braintree Town, which ended their nine-game winless streak.

But the match comes after another turbulent week at Harriers that has seen the playing staff go without wages for a second month running.

The squad only received part payment in February, although they have now been paid that in full, but have now not been paid in full for March.

Chairman Ken Rae says that will be rectified following the Bank Holiday Monday clash against Bristol Rovers at Aggborough when Harriers’ largest crowd of the season is expected.

Board member John Davies spoke to the players on Wednesday to explain the situation and has set up a meeting between the squad and benefactors Kath and Ernie Lane.

The Lanes reiterated their commitment to financially back the club until the end of the season a month ago, after a similar situation had arisen.

Whild, however, remains focused on tomorrow’s match and insists the players won’t be distracted by the on-going financial woes.

He said: “The money problems are not a new situation, they’re ones the lads have been dealing with all season.

“But they will do what they have done in every match, go out and do their best for the club in difficult circumstances.”

Harriers could once again turn to on-loan Birmingham City duo Nat Kelly, a defender, and utility player James Fry, who played against Braintree.

They also have William Boyle, a left-sided player from Huddersfield Town, to call on, while Harriers have also signed Tipton Town striker Gurjit Singh on non-contract terms.
