PERSHORE Town continued their excellent form with a 3-2 win over Cadbury Athletic to climb to ninth in Midland League Division One.

The newly crowned team of the month hit back from a goal down to record a seventh straight victory.

Cadbury went ahead in the 18th minute but Town equalised five minutes later when Jake Donnelly rose at the back post to head in from close range following good work from Danny Lennon.

The scores were level at half-time but the match was decided within four minutes of the second-half starting.

Lennon cut inside and his goal-bound shot was deflected in off a defender. Two minutes later, Dave Williams rose in the box to head home Donnelly’s corner.

The visitors reduced the deficit with 10 minutes remaining but Town deservedly held on for another three points.

Elsewhere, Malvern Town stretched their unbeaten run in the West Midlands League Premier Division to seven games with a 3-1 home victory over Shawbury United.

Aaron Richards, Jack Cullity and Matt Turner scored the goals.
