KIDDERMINSTER Harriers have secured the future of one of last season's promising young players with Jake Green agreeing a new deal.

The 21 year-old arrived at Aggborough from Bristol Rovers last summer and waited for his opportunity before emerging as a talent towards the end of the campaign.

Green, who has featured at full-back and in midfield, made 10 starts in March and April, giving him a total of 23 appearances during his first campaign as a Harrier.

Manager Gary Whild said: “Jake is really likeable and he’s shown his worth in being such a versatile player and a young lad who has so much to offer.

“His attitude is fantastic — he knows he has got to improve in certain areas but for a lad of his age to come in and show that much maturity in so many positions and make such a contribution is fantastic.”

Green, the younger brother of former Birmingham City striker Matt, did not make a first-team appearance at Rovers but impressed on trial with Kidderminster last summer.
