KIDDERMINSTER Harriers are chasing a young goalkeeper from a Premier League outfit alongside more experienced signings.

Manager Gary Whild's new additions so far have been midfielder Calvin Dinsley and right-back Jordan Jones from Southern League Premier Division Redditch United.

But Whild, who last week welcomed back ex-England goalkeeper Tim Flowers to his coaching staff, does not intend to leave his squad short on experience, despite having his player budget halved from last season.

He also has an unnamed young talent from the top flight in his sights for the Vanarama National League club.

The Harriers boss said: “We are some way down the line on trying to bring in a young keeper from a Premier League side.

“We’re also working hard to bring in three or four more experienced players who can help the young guys we have at the club.

"The chairman has come out and said the budget is half of what it was last season so we cannot compete with the wages.

“But we can offer players a good set-up and the chance to work with a former England player, which is also an attractive prospect."
