KIDDERMINSTER Victoria’s flying start to the season was ended by 2014 Premier Division champions West Bromwich Dartmouth who left Chester Road with a thumping 205-run victory.

Yet again, Dartmouth skipper Kadir Ali came up with a fine all-round performance but this time he was aided and abetted by Brinder Phagura (116) and Samid Bhatti (67).

Ali opened up with 89 as Dart - mouth piled up 318 for seven, thanks to a third-wicket stand of 127 between Ali and Phagura and a fourth-wicket stand of 118 between Phagura and Bhatti.

Faced with a daunting target to preserve their 100 per cent record, Kidderminster capitu - lated to 113 all out with Ali picking up 4 for 33.

The closest game of the day took place at Cherry Hill Road where Barnt Green defeated Brockhampton by 17 runs.

Ed Pollock starred for Barnt Green with 130 from 154 balls and he received great sup - port from Tom Brown (55) in a sixth-wicket partnership of 120 which took the home side to 280 for nine at the close of the in - nings.

Adam Hewlett, with 4 for 49, and former Green all-rounder Nick Powell, with 3 for 70, returned the best figures for the visitors who were given a flying start by Danny Irvine (69) and Henry Langford (32).

Both were dismissed by Tom Brown, who finished with 5 for 72, and the Brockhampton in - nings, gradually, fell away to 263 all out despite 43 from Chris Powell.

Ombersley continued their impressive start to life at the league’s top level with a six- wicket win at bottom-of-the-ta - ble Wolverhampton who posted 249 for eight, led by 87 from Alex Grant and solid contribu - tions from Tom Fell (37), Matthew Kleindveldt (34) and Ross Aucott (31).

Spinners Ollie Uffindall (3 for 61) and Matt Rawnsley (3 for 83) were the most successful bowl - ers for Ombersley who slipped to 105 for four before an unbroken fifth-wicket stand of 146 between Uday Kaul (125 not out) and Ted Bayliss (71 not out) eased them over the line with four balls remaining.

Uffindall began the chase with 40 for Ombersley while Kleinveldt was the best of the Wolverhampton bowlers with 3 for 63.

Barnards Green returned to winning ways in Division One with a five-wicket success against Leamington Spa who were restricted to 217 for seven.

Jon Wigley (64), Lee Hopkins (51), David Bailey (32) and Rob Williams (31) all played their part but Leamington needed one of them to go on to a century to post a formidable total.

In reply, the Worcestershire pair of George Rhodes (95 not out) and Alex Hepburn (39) made sure of a Barnards Green victory.

Bromsgrove were frustrated for the second week running by a side that refused to give in, even though thoughts of victory were fleeting.

Ash Newfield top scored with 61 in a Bromsgrove total of 214 for nine with Nigel Davenport taking 5 for 47 for Old Hill who had reached 167 for six when time ran out.

Dan Brosnan (52 not out) finished with a half-century for Old Hill, while Worcestershire’s Alexei Kervezee took 3 for 31 for Bromsgrove.

Faisal Khalid scored 55 in an Eastnor total of 165 with Laeq Chishti taking 5 for 60 for Pen - kridge before 61 from Rana Hassan saw Penkridge to a three wicket success.

In Division Three, Worcester’s Luke Deeprose (5 for 45) took the last five C & R Hawks wickets in succession to limit the Staffordshire outfit to 172 all out.

An unbeaten 53 from Fabian Allen and 45 from Tyler Ward eased Worcester to a comfortable win, which secures their place in the top half of the table.

Streetly’s Stefan Van Dyk took 6 for 43 as Astwood Bank crashed to 66 all out at Briar Avenue.

Neil Curtis then scored 39 to guide his side to a very early eight-wicket win which lifts them out of the bottom four.

Walmley, helped by Tom Burton’s impressive 98, have climbed up to second place in the Premier Division table following a winning draw against Berkswell, who were the previous occupants of the runners- up position.
