KIDDERMINSTER Harriers manager Gary Whild believes his patience is set to pay off as the club close in on several experienced new signings.

Harriers are keen to add two or three additions of proven quality to bolster a youthful squad for what promises to be a challenging National League campaign.

While Whild is working with a tight playing budget, he feels his hard work is about to pay off and hopes the Aggborough outfit can reveal new signings this week.

With players unable to be registered until the start of July, it is always a nervous time of year for clubs looking to strengthen.

Whild said: “This is a quiet time of year and a sensitive one because you don’t want to tip off your rivals as to who you’re signing. But I am hopeful that we’ll have something to tell everyone soon.

“We are looking for two or three guys with good experience and quality, who can help the younger guys. We are a long way down the line in terms of talks and I am hopeful.”

The 2015-16 league fixtures are set to be announced on Friday, July 3.

Harriers start their pre-season preparations with a trip to Romulus on Saturday, July 4 (3pm), and then go to Bedworth United on Tuesday, July 7 (7.45pm).

They have also added a game at Stourport Swifts on Saturday, July 11 (3pm), to their programme.

Meanwhile, Harriers will hold a juniors fun day at Aggborough on Thursday, August 6, from 2pm until 5pm.

It will be free and open to all with youngsters having the chance to watch the first team train and get the signature of their favourite player.

Harriers need to add to their band of volunteers for a working party at the ground on Saturday from 10am until 1pm.

A range of tasks need completing from cleaning to painting.

Any supporters helping will be rewarded afterwards with a barbecue.
