WORCESTER prospect Rachel Lund has earned a late call-up to the England women's squad for the Rugby Super Series in Canada.

The nation kick off on Saturday against the USA in Calgary before tackling rivals New Zealand on Wednesday, July 1, in Red Deer.

Head coach Simon Middleton has drafted in England under 20s centre or full-back Lund in place of Bristol’s injured Abbie Brown.

Lund, who played against France this season for the under 20s, is set for her senior debut along with Bristol's Megan Jones and Worcester team-mate Lark Davies.

Middleton said: “Rachel was one of a handful of under 20s players who joined the England camp recently as we continue our ongoing development of players with one eye on the 2017 Rugby World Cup.

"Rachel was outstanding and did not look out of place at all so it is great to call her up for this exciting tour.”

Other Worcester players involved are Bianca Blackburn, Rochelle Clark, Laura Keates, Ceri Large and Lydia Thompson.

England finish the series against hosts and Rugby World Cup runners-up Canada on Sunday, July 5, in Edmonton.
