DROITWICH Dolphins continued their winning ways at the Gloucester Swimming Club open meeting.

Over two long and hot days, 22 swimmers competed in 93 races.

The Dolphins managed to win 30 medals and managed to beat their entry times on 56 occasions as well as achieving several qualifying times for the 2016 Worcestershire Swimming Championships.

Medal winners were Morgan King, with five golds, two silvers and a bronze. Aaron Biddle won two golds and a silver, Chris Jenkinson gold and silver, Tom Dean gold and bronze.

Tim Haggitt and Alex Munro both won a gold each, while Tim Quiney won four silvers and three bronzes, Ruth Hadley four silvers, George Grech a silver and Joshua Royle a bronze.

King was also runner-up in the 12 years age group top girl award. The other Droitwich team members also performed well.

They were: Georgia Appleton, Max and William Armstrong, Matthew Daniels, Rowen Dennett, Harry Grech, Rebecca Hadley, Dan Kay, Megan Oswell, Felicity Quiney, Ashleigh Turner and Lilia Young.

Dolphins coach Chris Hadley said: “It is great to see all the hard work being produced in training is reaping its rewards.”

King competes in the Welsh nationals in Swansea later this month and Hadley will swim in the English Summer Nationals in Sheffield at the beginning of August.
