MANAGER Paul Collicutt is not too concerned about Evesham United’s winless pre-season programme.

The Robins have had a tough sequence of fixtures, including Worcestershire FA Senior Cup defeats to highergraded Worcester City and Kidderminster Harriers.

Wessex League Premier Division outfit Hamworthy United, who are at the same level as newly-reformed Salisbury, travel to the Jubilee Stadium tomorrow (3pm).

Collicutt arranged the fixture through old friend John Macey, a former team-mate at Newport, who now lives in Dorset.

“When Petersfield realised they couldn’t come to Evesham after being doublebooked, John helped to arranged the new fixture,” explained Collicutt.

“John used to run Macey Sports in Newport but has since re-married and lives in the Poole area and he will be staying at my place over the weekend.

“Hamworthy are one tier below us and it should be a competitive game. It’s something a bit different — they don’t know us and we don’t know them.

“Our pre-season has been a bit hit-and-miss. We have three or four niggles but I am not too concerned about that or the results.

“The main thing is we’re ready for our first league game of the season.”

Kevin Sawyer, who saved an early penalty in Tuesday’s 1-1 draw with Littleton, continues in goal but trialist Zack Kotwica and midfielder Ashley Williams are unavailable.

Forward Lance Smith (bruised ankle) and centrehalf Matt Sysum (swollen knee) are doubts, while striker Adam Mann doesn’t return from Australia until Sunday.

Kidderminster Harriers visit Southern League Premier Division side Stratford Town tomorrow (3pm) for their final pre-season match.

It follows Harriers’ 6-0 win over Evesham United in the Worcestershire FA Senior Cup and a 2-0 defeat to League One outfit Shrewsbury Town on Tuesday.

Trialist keeper Dean Snedker, 20, has signed a contract for the season after previously playing for Northampton Town and Brackley Town.

Stratford play their first home pre-season fixture due to drainage work on the DCS Stadium pitch.

Hereford complete their pre-season programme with a visit from Hull City under 21s (3pm).
