GRAHAM Thompson carried off three titles in the Worcester Table-Tennis League’s annual championships at Bishop Perowne’s CE College.

Brett Brining had mixed emotions on an action-packed day after working his way to five finals but winning only one.

Tournament secretary Janet Hunt was in charge of the 10 events which took place.

In the men’s singles semi-finals, Michael Siket beat Thompson, and Brining defeated Dale Dickinson. In the final, Siket defeated Brining 11-4, 11-2, 11-6.

Thompson won the veterans’ singles final, beating Brining 11-7, 11-3, 8-11, 11-4.

Siket and Dale Dickinson won the men’s doubles, beating Brining and Thompson 10-12, 11-9, 11-7, 7-11, 13-11.

Brining and John Cawthra triumphed in the veterans’ doubles (draw for partner) after beating John Stalker and Dave Bradley in the final 11-5, 11-7, 11-4.

Thompson met Brining in the veterans’ singles handicap final and Thompson managed to run out victorious 21-19, 21-23, 21-13.

The Tyler Cup (a handicap event with 24 entries) saw Siket (-15) beat Eliot Brandwood (+2) in the final 21-18, 6-21, 21-13.

Julian Barnes won the Division Two competition after beating Phil Knights in the final in three close games 11-9, 12-10, 11-9.

Ryan Field narrowly defeated Dorin Luca in the Division Three event 12-10, 11-6, 12-10.

Thompson and Mark Shouler won the Charities Doubles (draw for partner) after toppling Barnes and Paul Pattison 8-11, 9-11, 11-6, 11-5, 11-8.

Eliot Brandwood defeated Daniel Fellows 11-8, 11-2, 11-5 in the intermediate singles.
