WORCESTER Bowling Club triumphed by 51 shots 119-68 in their first visit to Oldington after winning five of the six triples.

The city got off to a flier after picking up two fives and three threes to give them a lead of 28 at five ends.

Continuing to pick up shots, the lead had increased to 43 at the tea interval. With three ends left, Worcester gained an advantage of 59.

Although Oldington scored four fours and two threes, the difference was only reduced by eight.

Continuing his success as skip, John Tarlington’s triple finished victors by 18 shots and only conceded four ends.

After a close first half, Rob McCaughtrie’s trio pulled away to win by 14.

Taking a 12-shot lead at the tea interval, Mick Bullock’s opponents returned to pick up shots but still left the Worcester triple winners by 12.

Ron Ling (6) and Arthur Jackson (4) completed the victory.
