WORCESTER Bowls Club suffered a 14-shot defeat when Manor Park visited Wood Terrace, although each side claimed two winning rinks.

Picking up a four on the third end enabled the home side to take a four-shot advantage after five ends.

Manor Park then replied with three threes to reverse the deficit to lead at the halfway stage.

With three ends remaining, the visitors then went further ahead after picking up two fours and a three to run out victors.

Worcester’s victories came from Mick Bullock’s rink, who won by four, and Jimmy Keegan’s foursome, who scraped home by two shots after picking up a five and three fours.

Manor Park’s success came from Graham Williams’ rink, who had a runaway 19-shot victory, and Gerald Wintermute, whose rink came from behind to win by three shots.
