THE weather intervened in a finely-balanced cricket friendly between Kays and Tewkesbury at Worcester’s Neel Park.
Having won the toss and elected to bat, hosts Kays worked hard for runs as Mark Cox (3-34) bowled a tight line on a damp pitch.
Darren Clark (42) played aggressively, ably supported by Tom Baker (25).
Steve Emson (66 not out) finally pushed the score to a respectable 197-8 in 40 overs.
But rain at tea ended the match.
