JAN Schutte scored consistently to win the two-round President’s Bowl title at Ravenmeadow & Perdiswell Park Golf Club.

Although he didn’t top either round, Schutte returned a nett 66 and 63 to achieve a splendid nett 129 overall.

Richie Ryder’s stellar second round win of nett 60 was not good enough to make up the ground lost in the first round when he finished with 70.

However, Ryder finished second overall with nett 130 - just one shot shy of the triumphant Schutte.

Two pretty consistent rounds of nett 68 and 66 gave Geoff Edge a third place overall.

He seemingly came from nowhere to finish behind Schutte and Ryder but still well adrift of the top honour. But Edge proved that multi-round competitions are not concluded until all the scores are in, posted and competition parameters set.

Previously, Ed Nicklin took first place in the opening round of the President’s Bowl challenge with a strong outing containing 10 pars.

Countback was required to separate the chasing pack of four players who all finished on nett 66. Steve Kupfer eventually took second place with a stronger last three holes with Schutte ousted to third place.

In the second round, Ryder took full advantage of the conditions to record a superb nett 60 with five pars and seven birdies, four of which concluded his round.
