OLD Elizabethans’ Birmingham and District Premier League Division Two promotion hopes suffered a setback in a low-scoring a five-wicket home defeat against Wombourne.

The Worcester club were blitzed by Kuldeep Diwan, who finished with 7-24 as the home side slumped to 123 all out at Perdiswell.

OEs total which would have been much lower without an eighth wicket stand of 51 between Dave Truby (30) and Damon Gariff (25 not out).

At 49-5, the Wombourne innings was heading down the same route before Adam Quiney struck an unbeaten 56 from 37 balls to secure victory for the visitors.

Huw Selvey took all five wickets to fall at a personal cost of 40 for OEs, who fifth and 35 points behind second-placed Shifnal.

Pershore’s Joe Taylor took 5-30 as Lichfield crumbled to 136 all out with skipper Tom Stone top scoring with 35 An unbeaten 64 from Adam Wiffen ensured that there were no alarms for Pershore, who cantered to a seven-wicket victory.

An unbeaten 106 from Tom Underhill led Astwood Bank to a comfortable five-wicket win against Eastnor.

Atiq ur-Rehman (100) and 42 from Mahaaz Ahmed steered Eastnor to 215 all out at Astwood Bank, who responded with 216- 5 with more than 12 overs in hand.

Despite 87 from Uday Kaul, Ombersley’s total of 231-6 proved too little against Knowle & Dorridge in the Premier Division.

Knowle cruised to a six-wicket win led by a run-a-ball 86 from Sam Reddish.

The most staggering individual performance of the day came from Kidderminster all-rounder Michael Hill who smashed 116 from 55 balls against West Bromwich Dartmouth.

He crashed 13 fours and 7 sixes as Kidderminster piled up 347-6 in 55 overs.

Nathan Round (71), Jonathan Wright (66) and Neil Pinner (56) were also in the runs.

In reply, Dartmouth crumbled to 160 all out as Chris Russell took 5-41.
