NUNNERY Wood High School girls’ rounders team finished third at the Worcestershire Summer Games.
The year nine pupils played seven matches against the top schools in Worcestershire, winning five.
They showed excellent determination and teamwork to produce some fine performances, eventually coming third in the tournament.
Having qualified in previous tournaments, the girls were invited to the summer school games at Bromsgrove School and represented Worcester City and Droitwich.
During the day they also had the opportunity to meet a Paralympic swimmer, and complete tasks in the athlete’s village. These included holding cockroaches, stroking skunks, bangra dancing and juice making.
They also played a match against Tudor Grange Academy and won 13-and-half to two. PE teacher Gemma Gleeson said: “I am exceptionally proud of the way the girls embraced all aspects of the day.”
