WORCESTER returned from Gloucester City with three winning triples and one tied but only scraped home by four shots 80-76.

After five ends, only three shots separated the teams in favour of Worcester.

At tea, the home side reversed the arrears after picking up an eight and a four to lead by 11.

Worcester picked up two fours and several threes to lead by five shots after 15 ends and then hung onto their advantage.

Leading the way was the triple fronted by captain Mick Bullock, who after picking up a five early on finished victors by nine shots.

Trailing at 10 ends, Arthur Jackson’s trio collected two fours and a three to win by seven.

After trailing, John Carter’s triple clawed themselves back to win by the odd shot, while the trio led by Ian Hunt hung on to claim a draw.

Worcester suffered a nine-shot defeat to Littleton 96-87 at Wood Terrace despite winning on three of the five rinks.

Littleton led by 10 after five ends, which increased to 28 by halfway after they picked up two fives.

Worcester struggled to contain their opponents, who held a comfortable advantage of 36 after 15 ends.

A great recovery reduced the arrears by 27 with two fours and six threes, including 14 shots on the final end.

Victorious rinks for Worcester were led by Rob Dawson and John Weston, who both won by four after trailing.

Bullock’s rink also came from behind to snatch victory.
