WESTFIELDS manager Sean Edwards says all the pressure will be on Leiston as his side face the biggest game in their history tomorrow (3pm).

The Hereford club are just one win away from potentially facing a league club in the FA Cup and will bank another £12,500 if they can beat the Ryman League Premier Division leaders.

Fields could be the first ninth-tier club to make the first round in six years.

They boast a 100 per cent record from 10 games at the top of the Midland League Premier Division.

“I’m pretty relaxed about it and not going to get carried away,” said Edwards, who celebrated his 48th birthday this week.

“They’ve had some run in their league but they’ve been doing it two levels above us.

“The pressure is on them and if they beat us then it will be because they are expected to.”

The cup will be on parade at allpay.park prior to the match due to Fields being named team of the third qualifying round after their 4-0 win over Walton Casuals.

Edwards says he won’t begrudge any of his players having their photograph taken next to the famous trophy.

“If there’s an opportunity for me to have my picture taken next to it, then I’m certainly going to have it,” said Edwards.

“You’re never going to stop the nerves and excitement but it’s a bonus game for us because we never expected to get this far.”

Fields may be able to include a new striker for the game should they receive international clearance from the Welsh FA.

The player has agreed to sign following talks with Edwards and chief executive Andy Morris.

Sam Rawlings is the only injury doubt, meaning Jamie Saunston is set to play at right-back.

Midfielder Sam Gwynne is available after returning from Royal Marines duty in the USA.

Fields go into the game on the back of a dramatic 3-2 win over Shepshed Dynamo after going 2-0 down.

“We found a way of winning it but I would have taken a point after being 2-0 down,” said Edwards.

“But we showed a bit of character and we needed a game like that going into the FA Cup.

“In the last few games, it hasn’t really been a level playing field but on Saturday it was a fast-paced game.”

Aidan Thomas, Craig Jones and Richard Greaves scored their goals.
