A WORCESTER 10-year-old has been rewarded for his hard work by achieving a karate black belt.

Joshua Fisher attends Royal Grammar School The Grange, where he is instructed by experienced martial arts ace Master Tony Johnson.

The youngster’s mother Kay said: “Joshua has been participating in the karate classes after school for a few years and shown real dedication to learning the art and also the importance of respect.

“He has worked his way from white belt all the way now to having achieved his black belt and is over the moon.

“His black belt was a test of Joshua’s physical and mental strength and endurance and was very demanding.

“However this did not deter him and Joshua is keen to advance even further and hopes to one day become an instructor himself.

“He is grateful to Master Johnson for his continued commitment and travelling across the country to teach his classes to students in Worcester, Wales and Formby (Merseyside).”
