BROADWAS Croquet Club members, friends and guests celebrated a successful season at their annual awards lunch and trophy presentation at The Royal Oak.

The golf croquet high bisquers handicap singles was won by Peter Hill, while the doubles equivalent went to Gill Brooks and John Guy.

Treble winner Jeremy Pardoe secured the John Ryland Trophy, association croquet handicap singles and golf croquet open handicap singles.

The golf croquet handicap singles went to Jay Popplewell and Billy Nicholson for the ladies and men respectively.

Ian Dampney claimed the golf croquet level play singles.

For the first time, an award was given by club chairman Stuart Smith for his outstanding performance during the season.

Dampney won for his 26-0 victory over Tim Dennis to beat Kington Maurward in the South West Federation Association Croquet final at Swindon after Broadwas were runners-up in 2015.

The club won the West Midlands Golf Croquet League for a fifth time in six years and also bagged the West Midlands Federation end-of-season level golf croquet tournament at Himley.
