WORCESTER Nomads enjoyed a clean sweep in the Worcestershire Cricket Board Indoor League.

Cutnall Green (72 all out) lost to Nomads A (73-0) in Worcester Division One with four overs left.

With a man short and a weakened line-up, Green were in trouble in the first over when Matt Harris was bowled by a quick one from Rich Henry.

Indecision saw Derek Higgins run out in the sixth over on 49.

Although Paul Hutchins (35) retired and then returned to be caught and bowled by Cam Blakely, the innings stuttered to a close.

Reigning champions Nomads A, who lost their first match of the season, were in better form with the bat this time.

Guy Davies and Harvey Groves settled the matter without alarm by taking Nomads to 53-0 at halfway.

Royal Grammar School Worcester (136-4) lost to Nomads B (137-3) with four balls left.

Despite golden ducks for Cal Turner and Rhodri Williams the RGS batting display was greatly improved.

James Allen (27 not out) and Alex Wheeler (35) took the score to 66 before retiring.

Will Reading (26no) and Alfie Cook (28) took 16 from the final over and presented Nomads B with a daunting task.

But Derek Austin (33no), in particular, hit through the ball with ferocity.

Nomads reached 51 in the 4th over when Oliver Scurry (15) was caught and bowled by Cook.

The Bransford side reached the hundred in the eighth over after losing Nick Jones (14) and Pat O’Driscoll (21).

Andy Leach (25no) and Josh Hawes (14no) continued the rush to victory with Austin returning to finish the task.

In Division Two, WCB Seniors (128-4) beat Malvern (93-5) by 35 runs.

Peter Gurr (43no) and Robin Lloyd (10) scored 39 for the seniors before the latter fell lbw to Olly Harker.

Martin Johnson (23) combined with Gurr and Martin Woodward as the total went to 93 before he was caught by Tom Fairclough off Anthony Arnold.

Gurr returned and 20 from Arnold’s last over probably put the game beyond reach.

Malvern began hesitantly with seven from the first two overs.

The over rate of 12 was achieved four times and, except for Harker, all Malvern’s batsmen got in.

But wickets fell too regularly, mostly to poor calling and the inevitable run out.

Arnold top-scored with 21 supported by Andy Holmes (15no), Fairclough (14) and Lewis Hill (13).

Nomads C (132-4) beat Hallow (60 all out) by 72 runs.

With Roger Dixon (32no) and Jamie Oliver (53no) the main contributors Nomads batted sensibly to 47.

An easy run out gave Hallow their first wicket at 49 and Sam Jones (15) was second out at 80.

With two overs left Dixon returned to help Oliver add 28 in seven balls.

In reply, David Pugh was run out second ball before Jez Hodson and Paul Wyatt looked comfortable until the innings tripped up at 39 with two run outs and Hallow did not linger long.
