TWO goals from top scorer Dave Reynolds helped Malvern Town to a 3-2 win at Cradley Town in the West Midlands League Premier Division.

Games with Cradley always prove to be a battle as they have an experienced muscular side who compete for every ball and this game was no exception.

Cradley won the toss and elected to kick uphill in the first half.

Within a few minutes Reynolds fired in a lob which went just over the bar.

In the 10th minute Adam Sauntson cleared the ball from the edge of Malvern's box to prevent an attack.

Five minutes later Cradley took the lead.

Dreniz Bala controlled a through-ball and was one-on-one with Charlie Weaver as he slotted the ball into the net past the advancing keeper who could not distract him enough.

However, the lead only lasted a minute.

Josh Weatherby on the left ran to the touchline and crossed the ball across the goal for Louis Loader to bundle in at the back post.

In the 28th minute Reynolds fired in a 25-yard shot which hit the inside of the post and Phil Harris could not reach the rebound.

Two minutes later the ball was crossed to Dene Whittal-Williams and his shot was parried by Richard Kennedy in the Cradley goal.

Reynolds was quick enough to get to the ball but his shot was blocked.

In the 36th minute the ball was played to Reynolds who fired in a shot but Kennedy pushed it out for a corner.

Cradley started the second period strongly and Town picked up a couple of bookings for blocking their wingers.

In the 62nd minute a free-kick was brilliantly saved by Weaver.

However, they weathered the storm and took the lead in the 67th minute.

Weatherby crossed the ball to Whittal-Williams who headed the ball down for Reynolds to side-foot home.

They increased their lead in the 82nd minute when a good ball from Matt Pinder to Reynolds was fired home.

Five minutes later a throw-in to Reynolds was fired goalwards but Kennedy parried it away.

After a couple of minutes added on at the end of the game Whittal-Williams was adjudged to prevent Bala from jumping for the ball and a penalty was awarded.

Geoffrey Hill converted the kick to make the final score 3-2.

Town host Wellington in the league on Wednesday night (7.45pm).
