WORCESTER United extended their winning run to six games with a 4-1 triumph at Stourbridge.

They extended their lead at the top of West Midlands Women's League Division One South to five points.

United last suffered a league defeat in March 2016 and they defend the Worcestershire Women's FA Cup against Droitwich Spa at Bewdley Town on April 2.

Dominant Worcester took a convincing 3-0 lead into half-time through Lucy Sinead's brace, including a powerful free-kick into the top corner, and the pacey April Seers.

Skipper Becky Evans sealed the victory but Stourbridge rallied late on with a consolation.

United's influential central midfielder Michelle Davis had to come off with suspected knee ligament damage.

Manager Ryan O’Connor said: “This was a great result with an outstanding performance to go with it.

"When you're close to achieving something special it can be easy to let the circumstances control your performance but the team were keen not to let that happen.

"We are gutted to lose Michelle at the end of the game and we all wish her a speedy recovery.”

United visit Solihull United on Sunday (2pm) knowing three points would secure the title.
