BARREL of Laughs added his name to the roll of honour for the prestigious Lady Dudley Cup in the Worcestershire point-to-point at Chaddesley Corbett.

Having finished a close third in the Cheltenham Foxhunters Barrel of Laughs started a 4-5 favourite and did not let his supporters down nor owners Peter and Trish Andrews.

What A Laugh and Iberico were second and third respectively in the Fisher German-sponsored contest.

It was Bridgnorth trainer Phil Rowley's second success in the race following Sybarite’s victory in 2013.

Jockey Alex Edwards said of his mount: “He has got plenty of ability but is not one of those horses that will win by 20 lengths. He will only just do enough.”

The 26-year-old enjoyed a treble which started when he partnered Old Pride (7-4) to victory in the confined race ahead of Chasforgold and Seven Days.

He was involved in the second half of a Diana Ralph double with nine-year-old Henry Howard's first success in the three-mile maiden ahead of Festival Dawn and Master Hide when priced at 9-4.

The three-runner members race proved exciting as Well Mett (10-11 favourite), ridden by Phine Banks, passed Grove Field and 62-year-old Rob Sealey on the flat to win by a length-and-a-half.

Angela and William Rucker’s Megabucks (6-1) has been disappointing this season but the six-year-old scored an impressive win under Zac Baker in the restricted race over Keen Eye and Following Mama.

The five-year-old and over maiden proved a tactical battle with Freaky Freda (1-2 favourite) and James King outdoing Round Robin.

The ladies' open failed to produce a West Midland Area-trained winner as Pentiffic (7-4) defied his advancing years with Lucy May Turner followed by High Counsel and Be Definite.
