THERE’S been no shortage of aces at Bransford Golf Club.

Following hard on the heels of Paul Edlin’s first hole-in-one in the Mayor’s Chalice two other players managed to achieve the feat.

The successes were by visiting captain Terry Curtis when Bransford were hosting Brickhampton in a seniors fixture and Jason Barnett in a club competition.

All three were on different par-three holes.

Edlin achieved his rare feat on the 169-yard 11th with a five wood, Brickhampton’s Curtis (14 handicap) used a three wood against a strong wind on the 169-yard seventh and Barnett (14) a six iron to hole out on the 175-yard fifth.

Bransford seniors finished up drawing their home match with Brickhampton 3-3 thanks to a mid-match revival.

Dave Miller (18) and John Phillips (21) won 4&2, Rob Blake (15) and Trevor Atkinson (15) 3&2 and Mike Davidge (17) and Roger Clark (23) 8&6.

Alan Wallcroft (22) and Harry Godwin (18) lost one-down, Ferey Ghani (13) and Edlin (25) 5&4 and Mike Weaver (20) and Dave Randle (20) one-down.

The seniors also visited Puckrup Hall and lost 4-2.

Phillips and Andy Lamb (27) won 3&2 and Phil Spencer (19) and Clark one-up.

Wallcroft and Miller lost 3&2, Godwin and Edlin 5&4, Weaver and Neil Sheldon (21) 5&3 and Ghani and Mike Holmes (28) 4&2.

Despite his hole-in-one Barnett finished well down in Division Two in the club’s April stableford with just 21 points.

The division was won by M Smart with 39, one ahead of Barbara Ramsden.

The scores were the same for the top two in Division One where Harry Chadwick just pipped Ramsden’s husband Paul.

Bransford seniors' April stableford produced impressive totals with Miller (16) winning Division One on 42 points, just one ahead of Roy Burston (12).

Third went to Graham Wilks (17) on 38 in front of Alan Cockill (19), Trevor Atkinson (15) and Gerry Rebbeck (14) on 36.

The top score in Division Two was also 42 where Bill Bowen (19) took the spoils.

Both Rob Wetton (23) and Dave Ryall (20) had 35 each, Dave Randle (20) 34 and Neil Sheldon (21) 33.

Division Three was won with 40 by Allen Rowberry (26).

He finished four ahead of Pauline Wetton (26) followed by Bob Matthews (25) and Robin Brighton (28) on 32 and Malcolm Bradley (28) 29.
