WORCESTER Swimming Club showed strength in depth with both A and B teams securing places in the Worcestershire Winter League final at Droitwich.

Having won round one Worcester A claimed the second as well with 201 points ahead of Stourbridge A on 167, the city's B side on 155, Warley Wasps on 142 and Droitwich on 124.

The A swimmers had 85 per cent of their finishes in the top three. 

In the under 11 group there were firsts for Bryony Lowe in the 50-metre butterfly (37.30 seconds) and David Annis in the 50m backstroke (35.81).

Worcester claimed five under 13s wins with 100m backstroke successes for Rebecca Yates (one minute 11:56 seconds) and Daniel Day (1.05.75).

Megan Annis took the 100m freestyle (1.02.57) as did Louis Doyle (1.00.56) and Brodie Willetts the 100m butterfly (1.11.88).

Worcester enjoyed under 15s victories through Olivia Fletcher in the 100m freestyle (59.31) and 100m backstroke (1.08.00) and Matthew Thomas in the 100m freestyle (55.88) and 100m butterfly (1.02.94).

Charlotte Hall won the 100m butterfly (1.07.50) with golds as well for Lilly Merrell and Harvey Lloyd in the 100m breaststroke in 1.20.37 and 1.10.63 respectively.

In the open group Matt Richards secured the 100m butterfly (0.58.94) while Alex Westwood took the 100m freestyle (0.54.25).

There were 100m breaststroke wins for club captain Lucy Clayton (1.14.25) and Anthony Redfern (1.07.69).

The 100m backstroke proved successful for Jenny Gearey (1.07.13) and Oscar Brain (0:58:95).

Worcester A under 13s, under 15s and open age teams all won both the medley and freestyle team relays.
