EVESHAM'S men and women enjoyed successful winter tennis seasons.

The women's A team finished second ensuring promotion to Herefordshire and Worcestershire League Division Four.

The B side came third in their division.

In the summer season there is one team of three pairs in Division Three.

The club are always welcoming newcomers and especially team standard players aged from 13 upwards on Mondays from 6.30pm.

Evesham men’s A side retained their position in South Warwickshire League Division One.

The B team just missed promotion in the winter league but have been promoted to Division Four in the summer competition.

Evesham are considering starting a men’s C team next winter and would welcome anyone aged from 13 on Wednesdays from 7pm.

Anyone interested can be a member of just the tennis section at Evesham Rowing Club who also have squash on offer in Abbey Road.

Meanwhile, in the Wildmoor Spa League champions Stratford went top with seven points following their 4-0 win at Moreton-in-Marsh.

Evesham were knocked off the summit with a 3-1 home defeat to Alcester.

Division One saw Chipping Campden lead the way with eight points having soundly beaten Snitterfield 4-0.

Pershore have five in joint second spot thanks to a 3-1 win over Studley. Littletons and Claverdon lie equal fourth after drawing 2-2.

In Division Two leaders Henley B saw off Shipston-on-Stour 4-0.

Division Three top team HDA Redditch B beat Pershore B 3-1 and Inkberrow B moved up to joint second after defeating bottom side Aston Cantlow 4-0.

Warwick drew 2-2 at home with Chipping Campden B.

Promoted Bidford-on-Avon top Division Four after overwhelming Evesham B 4-0.

Wildmoor Spa A are just a point behind following their decisive 4-0 win at Bidford-on-Avon B.

Inkberrow C are a further point back despite a convincing 4-0 win over Moreton-in-Marsh C.

HDA Redditch C beat Moreton-in-Marsh B 3-1.

In Division Five Shipston-on-Stour B went top with a 4-0 victory over newcomers Tysoe.

Chipping Campden C are only a point behind after they beat Wildmoor Spa B 3-1.

Inkberrow D enjoyed a 3-1 win over HDA Redditch D.
