EVESHAM rider Mike Tustin followed up a difficult weekend at Oulton Park with a vastly-improved showing in the EMRA Superstock Championships.

In the Ducati TriOptions Cup, Tustin and TeamMTR were keen to continue their progress up the field, and gather some more championship points.

However, he qualified a disappointing 19th on the grid after missing out on the official BSB test day 10 days earlier.

With some big bike changes made overnight, Tustin was determined to gain some important points in the first race and he crossed the line in 12th.

A good start elevated Tustin into 10th place in the second race.

However, his pace dropped off, and he dropped down to 15th, gaining a championship point.

Tustin’s next Ducati TriOptions Cup meeting is at Snetterton 300 which runs from June 30 to July 2.

Tustin’s focus then switched to the Superstock Championship for the third round at Mallory Park.

After finishing second and first in the opening EMRA meeting of the campaign, Tustin was keen to grab some more points and consolidate a top-three finish at the end of the season.

After making a mistake on the tyre choice for qualifying, Tustin started race one in a lowly 16th on the grid.

A good start saw him move into the top 10 after the first lap, and he continued his progress to finish sixth, adding to his championship points tally.

Tustin started from 10th on the grid in the second race which gave the team a better chance of a podium finish.

Another good start allowed the Evesham ace to move up the field and into second place.

Tustin held second spot until his bike suffered its first minor mechanical failure of the season.

This forced Tustin to run on at two of the corners and he eventually finished fourth.
