YOUNG grasstrack rider Eli Meadows has carried off the Tom Thomas Memorial Trophy for the second year.
The Evesham rider competed in the second round of the FGA Championships at Lea Cross in Shropshire.
Meadows had a terrible start to his day, a misfiring engine and a wet track resulted in a poor practice session.
However, after the engine fault was corrected by Team Meadows, his racing started well and he improved as the day wore on.
Meadows’ first ride produced a second place to the very quick Sam Hall.
However, with a change to the gearing for his next ride, Meadows was unbeatable for the rest of the day.
He amassed a superb 25-point haul, which included the final, and secured the Tom Thomas Memorial Trophy.
